A New Way Of Living
The Tsunami Disaster saw many people coming forward with donations in cash and kind. It is also a way of reflection of our lives. What is our sense of purpose and meaning in life? We need to feel that we matter and that our lives make a difference. Having a purpose is the fundamental answer to what makes living worthwhile.
In Psalm 37, David talked about both commitment and surrender : “ Commit your way to the Lord,” he said, “ trust also in him” Committed believers who sincerely follow and serve the Lord and it is appropriate to urge people to have greater commitment. But committing ourselves to God and trusting him imply surrendering our lives to his wise control especially when fear and panic overtake us. The promised result of such whole-hearted committed and trust is that God will do what is best for us. Commitment is a heartfelt promise to yourself from which you will not back down.
Having a vision helps us to focus our lives and helps us to create our future. People with vision can bulldoze through the walls of conformity and resistance by having dreams and setting ideals for their lives. They follow through their dreams not because they are without doubts or fears but because their vision inspires them to move forward in the face of fear.
Faith is the strongest force ever known to us – faith in God, faith in oneself, faith in others, etc. Faith is the prime motivator of people. Faith does not make things happen automatically, we have to work for the rewards that faith has in store for us.
“ Faith is being sure of way of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see” (Heb11 :1). Faith is powerful because it is the source of the spirit of God within us.
Faith is having full trust and having confidence in the things we do. Faith in God gives strength of purpose; faith in people imparts strength of character; faith in oneself spells hope and concern for the world. Faith eliminates fear. Some of the expressions of faith include loyalty, honesty, sincerity, trust, confidence. Faith tell us that we must have a purpose in life, that life can be meaningful, and that our efforts need not all be in vain.
Faith is the greatest weapon against worry, greed, jealously, envy, hatred, revenge, doubt and fear. The way to prepare your mind for faith, is to think positively, have self-respect, forget failure and trust in God.
The acceptance of God in one’s life and in one’s human affairs, influences the structure and development of one’s personality. The thought that God loves, cares, and protects us, give us peace, serenity and self confidence.
The most powerful force in human nature is the spiritual power technique : faith, belief, positive thinking, faith in god, faith in other people, faith in yourself, this give new power to get what you, with God’s help decide to get from life.
Things become better when you expect the best instead of the worst, for the reason that being forced from self doubt, you can put your whole self into your endeavour and nothing can stand in the way of the man who focuses his entire self on a problem.
Expecting the best means that you put your whole heart into what you want to accomplish. Whatever you are doing, try to give it all that you have. Give every bit of yourself. Hold nothing back. Life cannot deny itself to the person who gives it his all. Fire the heart with zeal for where you want to go and what you want to be, work towards your goal.
Avoid entertaining the worst scenario cases, for whatever you take into your mind can grow from there. Take instead, the best of your mind, and only the best. Nurture it, concentrate on it, emphasize it, visualize it, pray over it and surround it with faith.
To develop faith, one could read the bible, spend time reading the bible, committing great phases to memory, thus allowing them to recondition your personality, the change in you and your experience will be miraculous. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Phil 4:13)
In our lives, by providing a service to others, by contributing to society. Pay it forward to lead more meaningful lives.
Faith is taking God at his word. Dare we do that today. Jesus said : “ Ask and you shall receive, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be open.” (Matthew 7 :7)
